Shahi Kheer | Sweet Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 liter milk
  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup (as sweet as you like) sugar
  • 15-20 raisins
  • 5 green cardamom
  • 10-12 almonds cut into small pieces
  • 5 -6 threads (as required) Saffron

Preparation

  • To make rice kheer, first take rice, wash them twice with clean water and then keep them soaked in water for some time. By doing this your kheer will become delicious.
  • Put rice and milk in a pan to boil.
  • Cook the rice and milk on medium heat till the rice is cooked and the milk thickens.
  • After this add cardamom (ground) powder, sugar and raisins to it.
  • Put saffron on the gas flame before 2 minutes, it will get the flavor of saffron. Take off the flame and use almonds for garnishing.
  • Serve cold or hot kheer.
